Art: Christopher Davison

I am completely bewitched by the delicately rendered, storybook-like ink drawings by Christopher Davison.  I think these drawings are from a series he was working on 1 or 2 years ago, but I keep going back to look at them.  They work like mirror images across the page but don't seem redundant at all-- they seem to hint at a beguiling story, characters trapped in some web of magic.  From a few of the scans it looks as if some of the images were done on the pages front to back, rather than one image per page.  There is a aged, smudged quality to them that makes them look like a forgotten storybook rediscovered.

I also love his mixed-media drawings/paintings with bursts of pink, yellow and aqua.  See his website for more.
