Brilliant James Dean.

Some poor soul completely missed the power of the above performance, titling it "James Dean Very Gay" while I can only see 'James Dean Very Brilliant'.  He and Sal Mineo riff in the most brilliant show of goofy teenage tenderness as they play a rag tag trio of unloved misfits with Natalie Wood in "Rebel Without a Cause" (1955).  The runaways bonded together to 'play house' in an empty mansion with James and Natalie's characters pretending to parent the innocent 'Plato' played by Mineo.   While rumors swirled about James' sexual habits off set, on set he always found a core of tortured vulnerability and playful tenderness in every character he played and still somehow managed to ooze enough sex appeal throughout to keep everyone guessing about it for over 60 years after his death.
