Radio Hour: Mermaids pulled me under.

Click on the link above to listen streaming

Walking alone, gripped by sea fever, pulled suddenly from the lonesome coastline below the still glass surface. Voyage through the golden screen, shaken and scared, to a haunting underwater dreamworld. Awaken, abandoned on the desolate beach, heartbroken with hazy memories of a lifetime in the landscape 500 leagues below. You can't shake the seafoam faded memories of Cousteau adventures with that soft focus siren. Featuring whoozy harmonies by Isobel Campbell, Syd Barrett, and Vashti Bunyan.

Oh, Doré.

I had a Doré label 45 when I was small, but for the life of me I can't remember who the musician was.  Something from the 50s or 60s my grandmother had picked up for me at a garage sale.  I fell in love with the label logo long ago when I was spinning vinyl on my Fisher Price and we just got reacquainted by happenstance this week.

Lives of the Faithful.

Sorry for my absence...

I usually post hiatus messages to keep readers out of the dark, and want my favorite reads do the same... but what's one more day of procrastination?  Then, flash forward a month later, to the apology post...

I can't even tell the harrowing tales that kept me from you.  I will, of course, share them, along the way and broken into small pieces, spread like a trail of  bread crumbs.  But, for now I only have this little peace offering.   In short, I'm back on my job for reals and I hope this full Marianne Faithful documentary for BBC I found will sweeten the delinquent reappearance deal.
